Tall Trees Profiles and Your Empowered Potential devised a unique definition for the purpose of the new EI Activator Report and its associated programs and products. Emotional Intelligence (EI) is an individual's ability to:

• Accurately interpret the emotions, thought patterns and behaviours of others,
• Show insight into the impact of their actions and interactions and 
• Adapt their responses for maximum positive influence in relationships, organisations and the world

We examined several existing emotional and social intelligence models and definitions, and found that they tend to prefer skills and personality traits that favour some temperament types and leave others with almost insurmountable challenges to achieve a high overall EI score.

Our proposed model levels the playing field.

We acknowledge that each person starts out with EI strengths and weaknesses, and should tackle their unique growth challenges, rather than change core aspects of their personality in order to raise an arbitrary score.

The Tall Trees Philosophy is that the task fits the leader, and that the key wisdom is to match one's EI DNA to the situations in which one will naturally excel first, and then to take on the Challenge Zones, Concern Zones and Caution Zones in one's own EQ DNA, and grow tall!
